SunExpress

Overview
SunExpress was founded in Antalya in 1989 as an equal partnership of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, both among the most important airline companies in the world. Making its first flight in 1990, SunExpress has a total of 838 scheduled flights weekly of which 486 are international and 352 are domestic with its operations based in Antalya, Izmir and Istanbul. While SunExpress currently holds the status of being the largest employer in Antalya with its 644 employees, this number exceeds 1200 with its employees throughout Turkey and Europe included.
Challenge
Sunexpress wanted to add another to its solutions and services that facilitate its passengers' lives and it planned to make the pre-flight check-in procedure much easier. Enabling the transport of thousands of passengers each day, Sunexpress decided to use the Ki kiosks for a solution involving passengers carrying out the check-in procedures at the airport easily and without waiting in queues before flight, printing their own boarding cards and changing their seat numbers easily when necessary.
Ki Solution
At the kiosks produced specially for Sunexpress, check-in procedures can be completed in many different ways. When the passengers place their credit cards they used in buying their ticket on the kiosk's credit card reader, reservation information appears on the display and they can have the confirmation procedure and boarding cards printed within seconds. This process can also be carried out by having the barcode on the electronic ticket be read by the barcode scanner on the kiosk, or by the passenger entering their name and surname or their reservation number manually on the virtual keyboard that comes up on the touch screen. If the passenger has completed the check-in procedure on the internet before arriving at the airport, they are also allowed to change the seats they have chosen.
